"We Invite all people to our church home
to Celebrate God's many gifts.
We are Nourished by Christ Jesus and led by the Holy Spirit.
We Send enthusiastic servants into the world
to proclaim the hope and joy of life in Christ."
"We strive to celebrate the rich diversity of God's people,
welcoming all to be nourished in their faith journeys.
We live to serve others
and fulfill our relationship with Christ in service to community.
Our Core Values
Hospitality is at the heart of our Christian witness. We value hospitality, welcoming all to participate in the life of the church, just as Jesus radically and regularly welcomed the stranger.
"Truly I tell you, whatever you did
for one of the least of these
brothers and sisters of mine,
you did for me."
Excellence in Worship
Worship is a response to God's abundant and unending gift of goodness. We value excellence in worship, trusting in the tradition of Christian liturgy to empower and sustain our praise to God.
"You are worth, our Lord and God, to receive glory, and honor, and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."
Faith is a life-long encounter with the incarnated Christ with endless opportunities for growth. We value Christian formation as a means of embodying our identity in Christ.
"So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness."
Care for Youth
St. Mark's has a long, rich history of caring for our youth and children. We value the presence and perspective of our young adults and are committed to empowering the formation of faith in their lives.
"Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children (and youth), you will not enter the kingdom of God."
St. Mark's is a community of people committed to the ministry and mission of Jesus Christ. We value not only faithful leaders but development for our leaders in order to best proclaim the gospel.
Remember your leaders,
who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith."
God created all things good and for good. All that we have, ourselves, our time, and our possessions, belong to God. We value faithful and generous giving of all that God has given us.
The Earth and everything in it, the world and its inhabitants, belong to the LORD.
Jesus lived a life committed to the other, welcoming the stranger, and working for justice. We value compassion as way of living for the other, as Christ calls us to do through our Baptism.
Finally, all you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
